Michael will receive the 2009 Producers Stage Award.
Established in 1996 by the producers of the annual S.T.A.G.E. benefit, the PRODUCERS STAGE AWARD honors members of the theatre community for both their artistic skills and their dedication to the civic well-being of society with a special emphasis on service to the battle against HIV/AIDS. With the first award presented to Stephen Sondheim, the producers established a level of talent, concern, and commitment that is embodied by the award’s recipient.
